I came to Mexico for one reason: to study law. Books, lectures, exams-that was supposed to be my life. But instead, I found myself in kitchens filled with strawberry lattes, streets that felt too big without someone to walk beside me, and a tutor who swore I needed more than apps to learn Spanish.

I told myself he was just a classmate. Just a tutor. Just a stranger with kind eyes and hands that linger too long when they brush mine. But every muy bien makes my heart stutter, every secret smile feels like a promise, and suddenly I'm realizing I didn't just come here to study law.

I came here to learn him.

And yet-between the teasing, there were moments that felt dangerously tender.
Like the way his hand would hover near mine when he leaned across the table, as though gravity itself was conspiring.

Or the way he'd lower his voice when I got something right, murmuring muy bien with a warmth that made the phrase feel like a secret.
It was ridiculous.
