I ran.

I didn't even know where
I just moved, heart slamming against my ribs, blind eyes burning with tears, feet sliding across cold marble.

Running felt easier than breathing in the same room as him.

And yet...

He caught me before I even reached the next hallway.

An arm wrapped around my waist
firm, unyielding dragging me back against the heat of his chest.

I felt his breath on my neck first steady, warm...terrifying in its calmness.

"Where exactly were you planning to run, Yiseul?"
Taehyung murmured.

My knees weakened at the sound of his voice.
I hated that.

"You can't go back to Japan,"
he continued, his lips close enough that I felt every word ghost across my skin.

"Your mother took your fake passport"

I swallowed hard.
He wasn't wrong.

"And the police?"
His fingers brushed my hip, slow, intentional, making my breath stutter.

"There's no official record of you even leaving Japan. No trace. No identity."

"As far as the world is concerned, you don't exist outside this house."

My throat tightened.
He wasn't wrong about that either.

"And that boyfriend you were waiting for?"
His breath slid down my cheek, sinful and mocking.

"He married a woman who isn't blind and broken."

That one cut deeper than it should have.
But it was true.

Everyone had left.
Everyone.

No sight.
No family.
No home.
No one to call.

Just him.
The only hand left to hold was his.
