Alex has never lived a normal life. For as long as he can remember, it's been just him, his older brother Dare, and Dare's best friend Viktor-moving from town to town, never staying long enough to put down roots. Motel rooms and back roads are the closest thing he has to home.
When Dare takes a long-term construction job, Alex finally gets the chance to spend a whole year in one place. For the first time, he goes to school, makes friends, and begins to wonder what he's been missing. But the stability he's always wanted comes with a price: the risk of being discovered, judged, or even torn away from the only family he's ever had.
