Marrissa Thompson has always had a difficult life between living with her single mother who works nights at a factory, her little brother she has to watch at night, and her father who's in jail for commiting a crime that ruined her family.  When her mom dies and she moves in with her aunt she finally starts to safe.  She starts high school and instantly befriends bad boy Spencer Adams.  Over the years their friendship has grown into best friends but when Marrissa falls in love with Spencer will she tell him and risk their friendship or will she be trapped in her world of trust issues and let him move on.
