Fifteen-year-old Elliot Gardner has everything money can buy-except safety. Behind the perfect Gardner family façade lurk bruises, whispered warnings, and the constant fear that his younger brother will be next. When a confrontation with his father leaves his face battered and his heart splintered, Elliot runs-anywhere but home. Under a canopy of Connecticut stars, he stumbles into Stars Hollow, the quirkiest little town on the map. There's a porch light glowing on a blue two-story house and a fast-talking woman with coffee in hand-Lorelai Gilmore-who doesn't turn him away. As Elliot tries to build a fragile new life among eccentric neighbors, Paris Geller's sharp-edged loyalty, Luke Danes's gruff kindness, and Rory's open heart remind him that family isn't always the one you're born into. But secrets don't stay buried forever, and Elliot must decide if he's brave enough to claim the future he's only dared to dream. ⚠️ Content Warning: This story contains depictions and discussions of trauma and physical abuse. I wrote this in highschool because I was desperately not trying to hide the fact that living with my parents was emotionally and physically traumatizing. My english teacher didn't give af, but at least he said it was well written :) This story is written from two separate perspectives, that of a young teenager, and that of an adult, changes will be shown by a few dashes before a new paragraph is started. This story will be centering around the subject of child abuse. ***If any of you have or are currently experiencing child abuse, please talk to a trusted adult, don't go to your friends about these issues as they probably won't know how to handle this information. Child abuse is one of the most evil things a parent can do to their child, and I encourage you to seek advice and solace in a trusted adult.*** The themes in this novel include child abuse, betrayal, abuse of power, displacement, vulnerability of the weak, power of corruption, loss of hope, power of silence, desire to escape, coming of age, and facing reality. Your main characters are an adult female named Saden Monroe, and a young teenage boy named Archer Carlisle. I will be posting this story in multiple different languages.
