THE BLOOD MOON

A scream erupted in the pitch black room...

Eli woke up fully drenched in sweat and the look of fear flashed in his wide blue eyes, after witnessing another nightmare that haunted his dream. His eyes frantically searched for someone for help.

Suddenly the door of his room opened with a bang, his fear increased, but when he saw the soft features of his mother, he got up from his bed with a small sob and ran towards his mom and hugged her tightly and started to murmur softly...."I am scared mom, I am scared, I am scared..."

Slowly his breath started to slow down when he heard the soft whispering of sweet nothing from her angelic voice...His mother slowly led him back to the bed, laid him down, wiped the sweat away using a small white towel, then took his hands and pressed a kiss upon them.

"It is well, my little prince," she whispered. "The dream is but a shadow... nothing more. You are safe. Safe here with me."

But his voice-soft, terrified-rose again.

"No, Mother... you do not understand. It felt real-the pain I felt... and the pain she felt. The girl's face... the terror in her eyes when she looked at me... Mother, it was as though I had killed her. I fear that one day the dream will come true. I fear that I will be the reason for a girl's death... I do not want that, Mother. I do not want that..."

She doesn't know how to console her little prince...after a while she saw that he had already fallen into exhausted sleep. She kissed his hand once more-this time with respect-and tucked the blankets around him with silent devotion....Then, she closed the door softly behind her.

Eli is sleeping without knowing that he would be taken away to a distance and a dark land, a place no soul had yet returned from- where he would fight to reclaim his life, his love, and the kingdom that once was his...
