Sure, they'll try to humor the situation. Since they won't admit that they're scared shitless and won't participate in killing innocent people.

they're victims, everyone is. They don't want to participate but it's not like they have a choice. It's a stranger or them.

They don't want to get their hands stained will the guilt with what they will have do to protect themselves and each other.

That doesn't mean they won't do it, if it's necessary.
