"What are you?" I shrieked in horror as blood shot out of the neck of the man in front of me.

His face twisted in agony, but the gushing artery silenced whatever pleas were still caught in his throat. Only the wet, sickening spewing of red slapped the floor under us.

I paled immediately, bolting, falling into walls that were unfamiliar to me. The dark rooms all looked the same, and I found myself dizzy, painfully slipping to my knees. Unwillful sobs of despair escape from my mouth as I try to allow the carpet to guide me to the front entrance, where I came in not too long ago.

The hot friction underneath my knees was ignored as I could almost taste freedom mixed with the bile coming from the back of my throat. The hot air of metallic iron death clawed at my nose, but I pushed through, landing in the dimly lit foyer.

The moonlight painted the walls, spotlighting the tears and snot rolling down my face.

"You mean... what are we?"
