Crowley was excited to show Aziraphale his new discovery to hide his serpent eyes: contact lenses!
Aziraphale, however, does descidedly *not* share his elation.
Based on metaphor that eyes are the windows to our souls and the observation that celestials can't seem to be able to change their eyes, except when Gabriel erased his memory, fundamentally changing who he his.

A new angel is sent to monitor the humans and report back to Heaven as a replacement for Aziraphale. Despite pretending so well, and doing such a good job of fitting in with the humans for quite awhile now, she slips up, and reveals her identity when she senses such an immense amount of love in someone that she just can't believe it. The Nice and Fairly Accurate History of the demon Crowley and the angel Aziraphale, on their relationship over 6,000 years. Aziraphale and Crowley have known each other since the beginning, quite literally. From the gate of Eden to the end of the world, they have been there for each other- tempting, thwarting, and even helping (not that their respective head offices need to know). As the millennia go on, the two grow closer and closer, and there are words that both off them need to say, but neither do. It only takes the end of the world for them to get their heads on straight. How in the nine circles of Hell did one admit, casually, while not ruining everything, to loving their co-star in the midst of a divinely mandated amateur play? Crowley and Aziraphale, masters of denial. The rest of creation, taking bets on when those two idiots will finally admit they're head-over-wings for each other. But when a divinely inspired play (terrible script, excellent wardrobe department, Crowley will give them that) forces them to confront the very obvious, incandescently real thing burning between them....
