A Dance with the Dark (Luc x Reader)

"If you loved me, you would set me free," his Adeline said. "You would set us both free."

So, he did. Luc could not break deals, but he could rewrite them, and he rewrote those of Henry and his Adeline - because that was what she asked of him, over and over again, to prove his love. He relented, thinking it meant she'd finally believe him, accept him, stay by his side.

But instead, she ran the opposite direction - ran back to Henry, who could give her no more than the brief blip of a mortal life before they both crumbled to dust.

Now, Luc is truly alone in the void of eternity, and he is breaking. The only thing that might hold him together comes in the unlikely form of another young woman who, unlike Adeline, refuses to make a deal with him. Instead, she offers her friendship free of charge, and Luc is desperate enough to accept. He has no idea how much this irritating mortal will change him.
