When you've drowned all that could ruin you, it is often the enemy's hand that pulls it back up; that's why it's better to burn it all to the ground. But when you've already drowned it all, and it's being ripped back up to the surface before your eyes, is it still too late to burn it?

Araenia-Ilona and Nikolai Zane have worked very hard throughout all their years together to build one of the greatest, most esteemed art galleries, and they succeeded very well in that feat. They always appreciated the way they could be in control of the narrative and make people see only what they wanted to see. It turns out, this "couple" wasn't as in control of everything like they thought they were. The pasts they thought they buried and put behind them suddenly come swimming back to the smooth surface they'd worked so hard to build; and these secrets threaten to ripple it entirely until the tides turn.

A past shrouded in darkness, blood, gore, pain, and very little gain comes back to haunt Nikolai, forcing him to face what he once pushed down. A past relationship that only ever bore bad fruit soon threatens to further uproot the life that Araenia had built with Nikolai for herself. And everything that lurks from both their pasts threaten to overturn their gallery and success.

What's even more threatening-cracks in the façade of their relationship start showing. Maybe the 'it' couple wasn't all they seemed to be. Were they ever even really in love?
