Ryan Lewis is the golden boy of the sophomore class at Chamber High School. He's the quarterback of the JV football, catcher of the Varsity baseball team, and on JV basketball. The golden boy has one secret: he's in love with the girl in the back of the class that everyone torments. 

Cara Lavenders is the one kids torture. She doesn't know what she did to deserve this. Ever since freshmen year they just now all ignore her. The only people that talk to her are teachers. Cara has many secrets but one that will affect the school's golden boy: she's in love with him. 

Cara had recently killed herself. Ryan, upset and grieving, blames himself for her death. A box is on his doorstep appears with only his name on it. The box contains letters from Cara. With these letters Ryan's life is changed forever.
