Milo has always been invisible. At school, no one remembers their name. At work, they're just another body filling a shift. And at home... there isn't one. Survival means staying quiet, keeping their head down, and pretending "fine" is good enough.
Then Athena notices. Bright, stubborn, and endlessly curious, she sees Milo when no one else does. She catches the lies tucked into their silences, the vanishing acts nobody else questions, the way "fine" never quite sounds true. And for reasons Milo can't understand, why she refuses to let them disappear.
The more Athena reaches out, the harder it becomes for Milo to hide behind their walls. Her warmth feels dangerous, but also like something they've been searching for all along.
As their worlds start to intertwine, Milo faces a choice they've never dared before: keep hiding in the shadows, or risk stepping into the light.
Because sometimes, being noticed isn't safe.
But it might be the only way to finally belong.
