My Shadow Guardian

Lan Zhan POV

When I was young, after my mother has passed away. My Fuqin have someone who has been keeping an eye on me from the shadow.

I don't know who he is or what he look like. He only stay in the shadow. But I can feel like he is nearby, that is all I can feel from him.

That is until one day, I was starting to maneuver on my sword at a young age. Bichen shot up into the sky, I couldn't keep my balance and then I begin to fall off of Bichen from the sky.

My brother is not around. My Fuqin isn't around, my uncle isn't around either. I keep on falling and falling and falling and falling until I felt two pair of strong arm catching me in their arm.

I opening my eye to see red flowing ribbon, and silver eye behind the mask looking down at with a gentle smile on his face.

"Lan er gongzi, you can't do this by yourself. You need someone close by to watch you fly." His voice was soft, warm and kind, he look about 15 year old.

I am only 9, he already know how to maneuver on his sword at this age.

We soon landed on the ground, he put me gently down before stepping away from me.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"I'm sorry gongzi, I can't let you know who I am. All you need to know is, i was sent here by your father to protect you while your family are not around. I will be in the shadow protecting you from there."

Before he can leave, I grabbed his sleeves, "gongzi, do you need something else?" He asked.

"Will I get to see you again?" I see him kneeling down to my level. He take out a small like piccolo and handed it to me.

"Hold on to this. If you play this song," he pick up a leaf nearby, he begin to play a short song, then he stop, "play this song and I will come find you."

After he said that, he vanished before me.

"I hope that I will get to see you again. My Shadow Guardian."
