Long ago, humanity built machines too clever for their own good-robots that turned against their makers and nearly wiped the world clean. In the aftermath, survivors created a walled-off sanctuary known only as Paradise, a place where advanced systems could detect man from machine. But Paradise had limits. The poor, the criminals, the unwanted-anyone deemed unworthy-were left behind. They built lives in the shadows of the earth, in an underground city patched together with dripping stone, broken lamps, and rules as simple as they were fragile: no killing, and always protect the children.

It is here that we meet 晨曦 (Chén Xī), called Eli, a fourteen-year-old mailboy who carries his grandfather's hat, kindness in his heart, and a satchel heavier with hope than with letters. Life underground is loud, lawless, and alive-motorcycles roar through damp tunnels, black markets pulse with deals, and the children are told they are "hope." Yet the fragile world Eli calls home shatters when the underground city comes under attack once more. Many died and the survivors were still left in the underground town with temporary saftey...

Driven from the ruins, Eli and seven other survivors find themselves pushed into the one place that was never meant for them: Paradise. But instead of salvation, they are met with suspicion and disdain. Branded as outcasts, they are seen not as survivors but as reminders of the world Paradise chose to abandon.

Now, the eight must stand together and confront the leader of Paradise with a choice: open the gates and share true safety with all-or drive them out to face the machines above, and risk losing everything.
