He held her wrists against the wall, his touch still soft, his forehead resting against hers. "I've spent years making sure you only see the version of me that keeps you safe," he whispered, his voice dangerously even. "Are you sure you want to see what's underneath?"

Aradhya didn't say a word. She moved, slow and deliberate, shifting her hips so he couldn't ignore the heat she was radiating. She reached up and slowly unbuttoned the first button of his shirt, her eyes locked on his as she whispered against his lips, "I'm tired of being safe, I want to burn."

He was everywhere at once, his hands roaming her body with a filthy, desperate urgency, his weight pinning her so she couldn't move.
