In 1879, in the superstitious village of Shrikza, Lyra Kingsfield was already an outcast. Twenty-one, unwed, and unapologetically defiant, she preferred her brothers' boots to dresses and longed for maps and adventures rather than needlework and gossip. When her father-the village mayor-summons her to seek a legendary treasure hidden deep within the Forest of Shadows, Lyra seizes the chance to prove herself.

It's bad enough she's trapped with no way home in such a dangerous place, but when she comes across signs of a monster lurking somewhere on this uncharted isle, she comes to find that the worst of her nightmares have only just begun. because the thing that's been stalking her from the shadows as fangs and scales just like the creatures she fears the most, with intentions of keeping her trapped with it on the isle.

**COMPLETED*** This is book 2 and can be read as a standalone but I recommend you read "Fated" first. Something caught my eye and when I looked up in the mirror I saw Rykan stepping inside, shutting the door and sliding the lock in place. My heart hammered in my chest as he approached me. He came right up behind me, setting his hands on my hips, never breaking our gaze through the mirror. "Kora," he murmured, stepping closer until my back brushed against his chest. His hand slid down to the end of my skirt and he flattened his palm against my bare leg, sliding his hand up my skirt. "I'm married," I blurted, swallowing hard and trying to ignore how much I liked the way it felt having his hands on me. "Hm," he grunted, narrowing his eyes as he continued his ascension up my outer thigh. His touch sent tingles all over my body, sending heat right between my legs. He gripped my leg and suddenly turned me, his hand now palming my ass as he pulled me against him, his teeth scraping against my neck as his other hand up to my neck. "Didn't seem to bother you when you had me down your throat last night," he said, wrapping his hand around my throat and lifting his head to give me one of those heart-stopping stares. "In fact, I believe you started that, angel." Koralie always felt that there was a part of herself missing. A part she hadn't yet discovered. Stuck in a toxic marriage, she's navigating her way out of it when she meets Rykan, a mysterious stranger she feels an undeniable draw towards although she isn't sure why. Things become even more intense when he starts showing up in her dreams, claiming he is a werewolf and they are mates. An even more unexpected turn of events comes when Kora starts looking into the supernatural world and finds it is not as foreign to her as it should be. Rejected but determined to keep him safe as her magic whispers of his death, she follows him through danger and blood as he stalks his own hunt, desperate to shake the hooks that keeps pulling him back to her. First Volume of the Dark Folktales. This is a horror, erotic romance, with monster-of-the-week vibes, such as Buffy, Supernatural, Witcher, Claymore, and Van Helsing. (I'm a massive fan of the monster hunting genre.) Written from Sep 2011 until April 2014. This was the very first adult romance I'd written and has a plethora of problems. Despite this, I won't do further editing as I'm putting my efforts into a full re-write. Author's note - Please be mindful of what you're saying when commenting. I'm happy with helpful criticism, spelling/grammar pointers, questions or simple chatter. However, a tirade of needless, unhelpful complaints and just outright rude commentary is not welcome. My stories are terrible first drafts, they're going to be riddled with issues, so just politely highlight if you feel there's a problem. I'll listen and likely take on board the criticism.
