He's the golden boy of Blackridge volleyball.
She swore she'd never set foot near the court again.

Malachi Hayes lives for the game. Setter, star, and the face of the Blackridge Mustangs' rebuild, he's supposed to carry the team and never crack under pressure. Sunshine smile, golden energy-he makes it look easy.

Kaia Tanaka would rather hide behind her drum kit. Or her headset in the BRUTV booth. Or anywhere but the spotlight. But when her sharp commentary goes viral, she can't escape the court-or the boy who plays like he's listening just to her.

He's sunshine. She's grumpy. Together they're messy, magnetic, and impossible to ignore. But the louder their chemistry gets-on court, on air, and online-the harder the world pushes back.

A college sports romance full of found family, late-night diner runs, and a love story worth cheering for.

First draft • completed • Cliche She was supposed to leave him behind. Instead, he followed her home-with a grin and a proposition she can't refuse. • • • Leon and Charlottes story (can be read as a standalone but is part of a series - read sinful liabilities first if you want to) • • • Leon Collins has an uncanny resemblance to temptation - and Charlotte Hudson knows better than to touch it twice. As maid of honour to her best friend and sister-in-law-to-be, Charlotte's only job is to keep the wedding week flawless. But that's easier said than done when the best man is Leon: her brother's best friend, her best friend's brother, and the one mistake she swore she'd never make again. They danced too close once - too drunk, too messy, too young, and far too unforgettable. Now they're walking down the aisle together, tension simmering under every glance, every brush of skin, every drunken confession that never should've left her lips. When the week ends, Charlotte thinks she's leaving the past - and him behind for good. She's wrong. Because Leon Collins just got traded to her new team. Now he's in her office, in her space, and in her head - all charm, smirks, and a proposition that shouldn't sound as tempting as it does. One rule. No feelings. Just a physical arrangement to burn off the heat neither of them can seem to ignore. But desire this dangerous doesn't play by the rules. And the closer Charlotte gets to Leon, the more her carefully built walls begin to crack. She promised herself she'd never fall for him again. But Leon Collins has always been the one risk she can't resist.

"'Bye.' I say after Edwin's kiss. He gives me a small smile that honestly looks more like a grimace. It makes me a little uncomfortable having him kiss me in the library. Edwin walks away, and someone standing in the corner of my vision makes me turn in my seat. A tall, muscular man is standing there, his arms crossed, staring at me. He's got dark brown hair, perfect eyebrows, and soft brown eyes. Honestly, he's gorgeous. And since I've read, and edited, about five articles about him, I recognize him immediately. Dane Sawyer. He's the best pitcher on our baseball team. He's hoping to go pro, although I'm not totally sure what the process is surrounding that, since I don't retain much of the information from the articles that I read about him. I know that he's also a junior, and that his girlfriend is hot as fuck. I've seen them together on campus. They're hard to miss because they are easily one of the most attractive couples that I've ever seen. I'm convinced that I must be hallucinating, because he makes eye contact and walks towards me. 'That was awkward.'" ~~~ Junior year is starting off chaotic for Mackenzie Brooks as she steps into her role as the editor-in-chief of the college's newspaper. She's smart, focused on school, the paper, and her TA responsibilities. Junior year should be starting off easy for Dane Sawyer. He's the star pitcher of the baseball team; attractive, athletic, desirable, with a hot girlfriend. Unfortunately, he's also failing computer science which is the one thing he sees that is in the way of his pro career. Different in more ways that one, when the two run into each other in the library, it's an immediate disaster. But when Dane convinces Mackenzie to be his tutor, both of their lives begin to change.

"I knew you'd be here." I let out a breath, settling down on the edge of the rock next to her. She kept quiet, her gaze focused on the gentle movements of the ocean. "I wanted to clear my mind." I took her hands in mine, intertwining them. "What's wrong?" I asked her, drinking in every inch of her face. She was gorgeous. "You don't need to say anything, but always know that I'm here for you." A smile crept up on her face, her prominent dimples popping on the side of her cheeks. "Thank you." "You made me soft." I grumbled out as I pulled her closer, guiding her head to my shoulder. "Is that good or bad?" Her warm eyes met mine. I looked down at her. "Good. Very good." "Why do you think that?" Her breath hitched at the proximity of our faces. "If I weren't soft then I wouldn't feel the way I do about you."
