I came to the Outer Banks expecting a summer of sunburns, surf, and my cousin's ridiculous Kook parties.

I wasn't expecting hurricanes, fights on the beach, or a Pogue with ocean-blue eyes and a smirk that drives me insane.

Everyone keeps warning me about the divide.

But I'm starting to think the lines here blur easier than people admit. Especially when the same people I'm supposed to stay away from keep finding trouble... and maybe a little gold.

Now there are whispers about a treasure sunk somewhere off the coast, a secret people have died for, and somehow I've ended up right in the middle of it.

I told myself I wouldn't get involved.

But when the tides change in the Outer Banks, you either swim with the current....

Or drown in it.
