In a near-future world, there was a girl named Genesis who lived on an island with her mother. There they were secluded. It was peaceful. She loved the sea, the bright sky, and the gentle salty wind. One morning, her mother is different and not in a good way.
This was a school project that I had to write. The prompt was to write a short story incorporating a dystopian characteristic, which I chose to be AI. I hope you enjoyed reading.

"You don't really like to open up, do you?" The words startle me, seemingly jagged and impure in contrast to the light and beautiful atmosphere we were in. "I didn't say that." Asher snorted, "You didn't have to." I was quiet for a moment, looking out to the beach and resting my cheek on my knee. "It- It's not that I don't like to," I struggled to find the words good enough to explain. "I just think, maybe, I don't know how to anymore." Asher stares at me for a moment, eyes filled with an emotion that I can't put my finger on. I turn to face him properly, almost gasping when he appears much closer than I remembered. Before I can turn the moment into a joke, he speaks. "Well, if you ever want to learn again, I'll always be right here, Willa. I'm always right here." * Willa Montgomery didn't expect to be uprooted for her last summer before college, but two weeks in, here she is: Santa Monica, California. Willa hasn't had the best life as of recent, and with the impending damage of her parents messy divorce getting harder and harder to avoid, her mom decides the best place for her to be is anywhere but home. Enter Sylvia Edwards, Willa's mother's best friend since middle school, and Willa's godmother. Sylvia is more than glad to host Willa for the entire summer, opening up her beautiful home to her immediately. And with that beautiful home comes the beautiful Asher Edwards, and a whole bunch of memories Willa wasn't even aware she had. Living in a house with Asher, the sweetest yet most persistent guy to exist is both heartwarming and dangerous all at once, because soon enough, the barriers Willa spent years building around her fragile heart are coming down- and fast. The beautiful, sunny island of Oahu, Hawaii is home to many people, animals, and ecosystems. And it's about to welcome a new family to its town of Kailua. The Reed family came all the way from Jackson, Wyoming to move to the tropical island. The father, Daniel, received a job promotion and was moved to an office location in Kailua. The mother, Alyssa, is very excited to live on a famous island with the beach and tropical breeze available year-round. Their only child, Genesis, is nervous, however. She's lived in Wyoming for her entire life and is worried to leave her life-long friends and start over. It's a big change for her... she's never even been to a beach before. What happens when Genesis get tossed away from the basic life she's known to be introduced to a completely new one where anything seems possible and myths come to life? ~ This is an original story with an original plot and characters ~Complete

I looked him in the eyes, defiant in not allowing him to get to me, as my cheeks began to burn. "And I think you could qualify as one of the most beautiful girls I have ever laid eyes on" he continued smoothly. I couldn't think of a smart remark in response to what he had said so I mumbled a "fuck off" before returning to the bookshelf, I was sure my face turned crimson. "Just out of curiosity," Levi continued, now leaning against the bookshelf. I wasn't going to warn him about the fact that it was slowly tipping over. "You're single right?" I wasn't going to tell him that his assumption offended me either. Instead I replied with "Just out of curiosity" I said in a mocking tone "You're single now too, aren't you?" "You're a feisty one, aren't you?" "You're not gonna leave me alone, are you?" I muttered, attempting once more, to grab the book I so badly needed for English. "You're really hot, you know?" Markus Flakes is well known for being the best swimmer in the town, in swimming pools only. my family took me on a family vacation to the beach to go swimming. we arrived at our beach house at midnight my family went to bed after eating dinner, but I wasn't tired so I stayed up until 3:51 am and went to bed. this will be my first time spending a vacation with my family, I love spending time reading story books in my room then interact with people. I made a deal with my mom that I would not read and if I win, she would buy me a few new stories to read but if I lose. my mom would take me to go shopping with her to buy news clothes for me,and she knows that I hate shopping for clothes with my parents! "Say something," he snaps, "or is that pretty little mouth of yours finally going to stay shut?" ✧ Four-point five hundred seventy-one billion years ago the galaxy formed. The planets were set into orbit and four-point five hundred forty-three billion years ago the earth was created. Human life as we know it was started. All of that expansion led Athena Grace to Ace Hawthorne. She had never met someone so malicious, someone willing to put himself above others in a switch. He had never met anyone so wholehearted, someone willing to give up their happiness for everybody else's. All it took was one simple tug of the door for her to fall into him, for her to see the boy with a demure smile that covered his cheeks like stardust. And just like that, the fate of the universes collided. ✧ "You waited for me?" I ask, a small smile playing on my lips as I tilt my head.
