For Valarie Grimm and her three sisters, fame came at the ultimate price. Now the band is recovering from a tragedy: the death of their lead singer -Valarie's twin- who was secretly sacrificed in a dark ritual to secure their success. Plagued by crippling stage fright and survivor's guilt, Valarie is forced to step into the spotlight as the new frontwoman, all while hiding a terrifying truth: she's convinced her husband is the murderer. She just doesn't know his motive, and she can't prove it.

Seeking refuge at a remote performing arts college, Valarie soon discovers their safe haven is far from normal. The school's supernatural walls whisper and bleed magical influence, compelling her to confront the lies she's buried. The approaching annual showcase is their shot at glory, but the dark magic tied to the ritual is now actively sabotaging the band. The band's frantic search for a new drummer to replace Valarie's previous role leads them to Diane Snape, a reserved fellow student whose talent they adore. This connection is Valarie's only refuge, as it forces her into the orbit of Diane's older brother, Severus Snape, and his tight-knit fantastical gang of monsters that could protect her from the metaphorical axe above her head.
