Pharan tried to reach for Khem's hand, but the other boy moved back, clutching his baby bump.
" I am sorry, I-" Pharan didn't know what to say.
" I just want to know, did you ever love me?" With tears cascading like pearls of sorrow, Khem whispered the question. And what answered his question was 'silence'. A silence loud enough to break hearts, filled with answers too painful to speak.
