As their parents grapple with natural disasters, mysterious phenomena, and personal tragedies, the teens find themselves drawn into an intricate web of secrets. They begin to investigate their parents' lives, uncovering buried truths during their school breaks. Despite their differences, the group forms an unlikely bond when they discover a shared connection, though a dark shadow looms over one of them, Casey Ashford.
The group learns that all their parents were once friends and brilliant collaborators, except for the Ashford family, whose presence brought misfortune to the others. A sinister cult, obsessed with destroying the families, further complicates the mystery. In a shocking twist, the Ashfords exploit the group's discoveries for personal gain, building their wealth at the expense of others. But their greed leads to disaster when the cult targets them, leaving the Ashford legacy in ruins.
This betrayal fractures the group's trust in Casey. Despite her pleas for a second chance, her friends remain wary as they continue their search for the truth. Their journey takes them to an icy cavern where they confront their parents, trapped within frozen cages. Just as answers seem within reach, the cave collapses, forcing the teens back to Starlight High School with more questions than ever.
