Earth is no longer a place where humans are dominant. A new threat emerged from beneath the Earth's crust finally set free from its dormant state causing many countries to crumple and die and left and only a few left remained. The least the humans could do is survive and continue thriving. No amount of nukes can stop this new threat.

This new sentient threat can infect organic life turning them into monsters beyond human comprehension. Humans can become infected but a special condition allows them to still be human but gained an ability depending on their mental strength, their will to survive or... What the organism wants them to have as they are the host and a parasite needs to keep the host alive.
