Being a daughter of the green wasn't easy. Briar realized by age six that her powers didn't just create pretty flowers, they were also destructive. As she's gotten older, she's grown close to her Godmother and the man who's helped look after her since her mother started disappearing. Now at age 13 she's decided that she wants to use her abilities to help the ones she loves.

"Hazel." "What?" "My name." I swallowed hesitantly, afraid to shatter the silence between us anymore than I already had, "It's Hazel." The silence of the night made it seem as if someone breathing too loud could make the silence shatter into a million pieces.
