The Veil Between

There are worlds that live beside our own.

Not above in the stars, not buried beneath the earth, but folded against reality like pages pressed together. Most people never notice. They live their lives with eyes half-shut, content with what they're given, never reaching for what lies just beyond.

But some of us are born restless. Some of us hear echoes where others hear silence. Some of us feel the pull of something we can't name.

Kaelen was one of those people.
