The only sound to fill the empty air is the crunching of glass beneath Caitlyn's boots as she approaches a deteriorating warehouse, determination glinting in her eyes. A cold, hollow feeling has settled in the pit of her stomach, and the closer she gets, the more uneasy she grows.
An anonymous tip off had made it's way to her mother's desk, exposing the supposed location of Piltover's most wanted criminal. Caitlyn didn't dare speak her name, and even just thinking it sent a chill down her spine.
Jinx.
Despite everything, she had been determined to investigate this herself. After all, now that she'd gotten herself kicked from her position as a junior officer, she'd have to find other ways to look into this.
The air is thick and moist, and the decaying wooden floor feels too soft beneath her as she cautiously strides into the ghastly building. While Caitlyn had been obligated to hand over her uniform and weapons after being dropped from her position on the guard, what she did have was access to her mother's rifle.
As she clutches the weapon in her hands, palms clammy, a voice startles her out of her racing thoughts.
"Never thought you'd show your grubby face around here."
