"Uh, hi," I say as I stand over her. I force an awkward wave then shove my hands into my pockets as I rock back onto my heels and await an answer. 

"Hey," she says with a small laugh as she returns the wave, purposefully trying to make it look as forced and jerky as mine had. 

"I'm Michael, mind if I uh, take a seat?" I ask before ushering to the ground in front of her.
