"She's selfish, so stupid and damned with burden. Nobody wants to deal with that, nobody would want to deal with her.
Maybe that's why she's always alone.
No, that is why she's alone.
Because she is just selfish, so very selfish."
Seventeen year old Amara Madden has never known what being a normal teenager feels like. Never knew what it would be like to go out shopping with friends without being paranoid, having a sleepover without unconsciously forcing herself to take night watch over others, playing games without feeling like her life was on the line.
She was secluded, traumatized, and harboring emotions that she never knew she possessed towards innocent children's games for the past five years of her life. Yet, she tries to forget it all, planning to ignore the six days of torture disguised as an innocent game for money.
But when a day of mourning turns into a constant reminder of the memories that torment her in her mind, she finds herself back into the games that took away everything from her, and now, this game has deeper connections and higher stakes than before.
Because she wasn't supposed to survive her first games at all.
And now, all she wants to do is ask him why.
Why did he save her to leave her with nothing at all?

In most of the cases, death is a certain end for humans - but for each of us this means something different. Sometimes an end is insufficient, sometimes a story needs to be re-written. If we're on this earth for a reason, then we can't pass away if our life-purpose is not completed yet, even if something unexpected makes our life shift. Sometimes it's just nur your time, even when your clock seems to have arrived at its last tick. Sometimes death isn't the end. And in this 'sometimes', you get the chance at another outcome, one more try to make it right, to shift the fate the way it was supposed to be. Pressing a hidden reset-button, a rare, golden moment to fix the past; to undo the damage that has been done, that wasn't supposed to happen in the first place. One last shot.
