From the outside, the ninja have it all. Fame, fortune, a noble mission, and a team that's like family. But things aren't always what they seem, and when the cameras aren't around, life for Kai and Lloyd is a living hell. All they want to do is survive, but Cole, Jay, and Zane aren't making it easy. Ever since Lloyd was chosen over him as the green ninja, Cole is cruel and controlling, and not even Wu can stop the damage he's doing.
Set right after the Final Battle, an AU where the ninja struggle with their massive rise to fame while silently dealing with abuse in their home.
(sorry if this permanently damages your view of Cole. I love Cole, but someone's gotta be evil in this story)

A very complicated relationship starts to build itself between them. Neither one of them is aware how significant roles they will play in each other's lives. Together, they are thrown in the deep end as they get kidnapped by the evil forces that plot against the empire. Together, the two must survive and make their way back to Ninjago City in order to stop what ends up not only causing darkness, but also great loss, agony and hardships. This is a ninjago bruiseship fanfic that is heavily Jay-centric. The first three chapters are very slow. I'm sorry, I'm learning about how to carry a story better. Jay is suffering from PTSD from Skybound, and he and Nya have parted ways. Jay struggles to keep up and find self-worth while Cole tries struggles to accept his feelings. Nadakhan returns, and Jay feels like he is going insane. This time, Nadakhan has new tricks up his sleeve and new desires only Jay will suffice. Nadakhan steals ancient relics and uses it to turn the team against Jay. But maybe it was Jay who turned on them. -There will be a short Nya/Jay/Cole love triangle, and definite Evil!Jay. -This is a big fat work in progress that I am doing just for fun.
