From the outside, the ninja have it all. Fame, fortune, a noble mission, and a team that's like family. But things aren't always what they seem, and when the cameras aren't around, life for Kai and Lloyd is a living hell. All they want to do is survive, but Cole, Jay, and Zane aren't making it easy. Ever since Lloyd was chosen over him as the green ninja, Cole is cruel and controlling, and not even Wu can stop the damage he's doing.
Set right after the Final Battle, an AU where the ninja struggle with their massive rise to fame while silently dealing with abuse in their home.
(sorry if this permanently damages your view of Cole. I love Cole, but someone's gotta be evil in this story)

This is the original version of my most successful book; Reuploaded. I originally unpublished it for the rewriting process and moved this version to a new draft so I could work on the book. I don't have the old book description, but here's the gist: ••• Prince Kai Smith longs to escape the suffocating castle atmosphere and live his life adventuring, but his betrothal and kingdom inheritance prevents him from doing so. That is, until he's nearly assassinated. Soon after, the King calls for Ninjago's greatest heroes to protect Kai and his sister from possible danger. Lloyd Garmadon, the Green Ninja and leader of the infamous ninja team, is one of the chosen ninjas tasked with protecting the royal family. He's assigned to Prince Kai-heir to the throne and charming in his cockiness. Things go well at first, but then danger once again emerges-this time inside the royal family's inner circle. Bruises on My Heart
This is a ninjago bruiseship fanfic that is heavily Jay-centric. The first three chapters are very slow. I'm sorry, I'm learning about how to carry a story better. You can skip to there if you'd like. *TRIGGER WARNINGS* --self-harm, suicidal thoughts, self-destructive actions-- -Mention's of SA -Torture -Will add more as they come -Lots of Jay angst! Jay is suffering from PTSD from Skybound, and he and Nya have parted ways. Jay struggles to keep up and find self-worth while Cole tries struggles to accept his feelings. Nadakhan returns, and Jay feels like he is going insane. This time, Nadakhan has new tricks up his sleeve and new desires only Jay will suffice. Nadakhan steals ancient relics and uses it to turn the team against Jay. But maybe it was Jay who turned on them. -There will be a short Nya/Jay/Cole love triangle, and definite Evil!Jay. -This is a big fat work in progress that I am doing just for fun.

"I don't feel very much like a family. Not when I don't know who to trust." After Lloyd wakes up back in his right mind, the green ninja is puzzled when no one seems to care. No relief, no joy--nothing. Instead, the others seem to have a new wariness toward him--especially Kai. While his suspicions grow, the ninja are determined not to tell Lloyd what happened while he was half-asleep for fear of how the green ninja might react to what horrid things he had done. But Lloyd wonders what everyone is keeping from him and grows more and more frustrated when no one will answer his questions. He decides to figure out the truth for himself, but will soon find that the truth isn't always what he wants to hear. New faces and old pains slowly start to divide the ninja, and as bonds break and allegiances shift, it becomes harder than ever to know whom to trust.
