Leah Daly has been warned about Tadgh Lynch, the hot headed hurler who has a dark past. But she doesn't fear him, as many others do, instead she thinks she understands him.
Her house isn't warm and loving. It's full of arguments, alcohol, and tears. While her step-father has never laid his hands on her, he has hurt her Mom. She feels helpless at home, as if no matter what she does it will always end up the same. She understands Tadgh's anger and wishes that she fought back like him, instead of being too weak.

Tadgh Lynch still feels like he's trapped in that house, with his father's voice haunting his every move. His biggest fear is ending up like his Dad. He constantly wonders if it's too late, if he's already like him.
When it comes to the shy blondie who seems to look at him differently than everyone else, he isn't sure what he feels. He's not great with those. Feelings. But he knows that she's hiding something behind her big brown eyes and he might understand it better than most.
