So I have one question: Will you give me thirty days?

Amanda Newton doesn't like to leave her house. Like ever. After developing an intense phobia of people after the death of her father, Amanda becomes a prisoner in her own home, locked in by fear and unacknowledged self blame. All this changes when she finds a mysterious note tucked away in a book in the library. Going out on a limb, Amanda replies and receives a invitation to change her life in only thirty days if she'll do exactly what the letters say. Every day is a new challenge for Amanda and there are days she will be pushed to her breaking points. Will she find herself again? It'll take thirty days to find out.

Madeline found the note in her locker. Neatly folded, it held a pair of razor blades and a set of instructions. "Just die, ugly girl. No one will miss you." She doesn't know who gave it to her. Or any of the others before it. But she knows one thing: they're right. No one will miss her. Her mother is dead, her dad is more a theory than a parental figure, and her friends are the stick figures she draws in her notebooks. So, when someone she barely knows invites her to the school graduation party, there's no reason for her to go. A girl like her at a party like that? Eating a bowl of live spiders would be a better idea. And yet, she accepts. She goes. She doesn't know what she expects to find there. She doesn't even know why she said yes. Out of desperation? Because she thinks she'll somehow make friends? Prove, somehow, that the razor note is wrong? Whatever her reasons, what she finds is a surprise. And not the one she wants. She's given one more note. And what's written inside this one will make her face the truth she's been hiding from for seven years. And the truth about Madeline Parker will either fix her, and finally make her worthy of being loved, or it will prove that the note with the razors is right. Or both. -- Complete and professionally edited. Also on sale (www.lifelostandfound.com) where 150% of all sales go to charity, including the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Dedicated to all of us who need a reason to keep going. Especially now. I hope it makes you laugh. And I hope it helps you realize you're not alone. (Warning -- Do not read this book if you: look amazing all or most of the time, never worry about what people think of you, have more friends than Estonia has people, or are allergic to the word "shenanigans". Especially that last one, because it's used once or twice and you may experience a reaction. Also, you should probably see a doctor about that. Secondary warning: the word "shenanigans" is used in this warning.)

"If you love me, you won't leave me." Jessie has believed those words from her boyfriend, Josh, since senior year of high school. She loves him and doesn't want to leave him. Not even when he shouts at her and hits her. Jessie's best friend, Kolleen, can't stand seeing her in that situation. With a bit of convincing - and the worst beating she'd ever received - Jessie agrees to move into an apartment with Kolleen. But not long after, Jessie is scared the worst of her nightmares will soon become a reality. Josh goes missing, and suddenly Jessie would swear she's being followed. One night changes everything, and one person soon changes Jessie's outlook. A responding officer from that fateful night begins to seek her out, at first claiming it's part of his job. As she spends time with her new friend outside of his job, she starts realizing that her feelings are evolving. After being abused for over a year, Jessie is terrified she's falling in love. What's even more terrifying is that he might be, too. She isn't ready for love. Not yet. She makes up her mind that if he is falling, and if he does love her, he'll wait for her to be ready, and if she loves him, she won't let herself hurt him. Can the words that used to cage her in really be the key to her freedom? --- Featured On: @NA: Take a seat and let it be | Mature Content and 18+ reading list @NA: You deserve the world | Mental Health reading list Ambys Top Picks New Adult 2023

People with haphephobia have a fear of being touched. With haphephobia, human touch can be overpowering and even painful. In some cases, the fear is specific to only one gender, while in other cases the fear relates to all people. Even then, there's always that one person that can bring comfort to you in the most unpleasant situations. But how could you find that person if the fear of everyday life lingered like a disease?
