Years after the events that shook the Wizarding World, Mayla Summershall, once the gifted witch who wielded the power of Ancient Magic, has left her past behind to become an Auror at the Ministry of Magic. She believes she's buried that part of herself: the special girl, the loyal friend. 
But when a cursed artefact goes missing from Hogwarts restricted vaults, Mayla is sent back to the castle she thought she'd never return to. 
Now, past ghosts appears in her life again, and this time so does Ominis Gaunt, now the Professor of Theory of Magic. Together they work to solve the problem, get the artefact back and find the responsible. 
Between duty, regret, and love long left unspoken, Mayla will learn that some whsipers never fade, they only wait to be heard again.
