"What made you think this would work Clark?" The man, stands in the darkness, taunts; tone sitting on the fence of judgmental and curious. The apartment is dark except for the exhaust-hood lights  that had been abandoned as soon as Clark felt the other man's presence. 

"Well, I figured since you have the money and I have the knowledge - we could talk one on one. Like real partners do." The last few words are thick, accusatory and said with the smallest lift in the other-worlder's smile.

The daytime billionaire, who has now emerged from his comfort of the shadows, walking into the warm yellow light of the journalist's apartment. His once-shrouded face now visible. "Talk to me then."
