Following the tragic events of the Mugen Train, Kyojuro's elder sister, Kiko, steps up to take his place as Flame Hashira. The shoes she has to fill seem impossibly large. She doesn't know if she will ever be good enough to stand in his place, but a particular Water Hashira flips her world upside down. Together, the face Kiko's inner demons as well as the ones that threaten humanity.

Unconscious in the snow, Giyuu Tomioka is taken to get help by the eldest son of the Kamado family, Tanjiro, but Giyuu is very unwilling to stay for no reason known to him.
