I often wonder-what would have happened if Shen had been emotionally intelligent enough to understand what was happening around him? What if he had noticed the unspoken truths, the quiet emotions that lingered in every glance and gesture? What if he had realized that Gaotu loved him sooner? What if he had read the room, used his heart as well as his mind?
