Eight-year-old Lydia Mayfield has wandered its halls for decades - a quiet, polite little girl with a fading ribbon in her hair and a secret she doesn't understand. She plays tea parties with ghosts, hums songs no one remembers, and waits for her parents to wake up.

When Danny Torrance arrives for the winter, Lydia feels something she hasn't felt in years - warmth. He shines, just like she once did. Drawn to his light, she becomes his invisible companion, guiding him through the hotel's darkness... even as the Overlook begins to twist her into one of its own.
