The story begins with the idyllic life of a family in Kerala. Pradeep, a kind and trusting man, is married to Vineesha, a beautiful and vibrant woman. They are proud parents of two daughters: Arya, a bright and perceptive 12th-standard student, and Soumya, an innocent 7th-standard child. Their home is filled with laughter, mutual respect, and deep-seated love, a picture of contentment that seems unshakeable. The New Neighbors This tranquility is disrupted when a new family moves into the house next door. The newcomers are the Sharmas: Praveen, a stern and often-absent businessman, his quiet wife Ranjitha, their bubbly 10-year-old daughter Priya, who quickly becomes Soumya's playmate, and their 22-year-old son, Vishal. Vishal is a charismatic and handsome young man, recently graduated and figuring out his next steps in life. The Cracks Appear The families become friendly. The children play together, and the adults exchange pleasantries. A casual friendship develops between Vineesha and Vishal. They start with harmless conversations over the fence, which soon turn into longer chats, shared cups of tea when Pradeep is at work, and occasional messages on the phone. What begins as a simple, neighbourly bond slowly, almost imperceptibly, deepens. Vineesha, perhaps feeling the routine of her life, finds a spark of excitement and youthful admiration in Vishal's attention. For Vishal, the attention of a sophisticated, mature woman is intoxicating. Their "normal friendship" crosses a line, evolving into a secret, intense, and physical affair.
