Story Description

A Care Home and Me follows a sixteen-year-old apprentice navigating life in a care home for elderly residents, including those living with dementia and Alzheimer's. From the fast-paced front desk to creative activities, laundry, and cleaning, she experiences every facet of care work. Along the way, she learns patience, empathy, and resilience, forming deep bonds with residents and co-workers alike. Through joy, heartbreak, and unexpected challenges, including discovering she is pregnant at seventeen, she discovers the power of kindness, dedication, and love in shaping lives - and the unseen labor that makes care possible.
