Jasper Chen is an ordinary high school student. Literally. There is nothing to it other than the normal day to day drama and trauma. Jasper is broken. He says he's not but between his anxiety and trans-awakening, his PTSD is triggered constantly by fear of a person that haunts him in his past and present. He tends to keep to himself, hiding from people who claim to be his friends. People he knows are fake but stays anyway. He has two real friends- Ki Simmons and Jasmine Heart. But there is only one real person that keeps him looking forwards through the day rather than sitting in it. and this person was a complete stranger to him, and him to her.
The only interaction they had ever had was the occasional eye contact across the cafeteria.
And there was also the one boy who didn't know him from a hole in the ground but also found random ways to do small and meaningful acts of kindness for Jasper. And that small little glimmer of light- hope-had kept him going.
