25-year-old Adrian Myles Ashford has always been a loner, even in high school he did not have anyone that he could consider a friend. Even with his job as a small bookstore owner, he has always been the antisocial type to begin with, always wanting to be alone until he got back into his love for reading and decided to create a TikTok account and soon enough, he found himself being in a book club. With the username @StoriesWeKeep, Adrian uses his TikTok account to talk about his bookstore, what he loves to read, book recommendations, etc. He has never been one to care about being "popular" so paying attention to his likes and followers has never been something he kept track of.
Who knew that one day having someone duet his video would make him go viral and he would meet someone that he never knew he needed in his life.
28-year-old Soren Cassius Graves never thought he would be in the position he is in now. He is a popular tattoo artist, very well liked and well recommended. Soren has always been one of the brooding types, he very rarely showed any kind of emotions or expression, preferring to remain stone always faced. He is a profoundly serious person with little to no time to play around. However, at night, he slips into his alter ego on TikTok, under the username @VeiledTruth. The Veiled Truth is popular among the MaskTok community with almost a million followers, Veiled uses audios from audiobooks, song lyrics, etc. to give off that dark romance, main character kind of vibe. He always keeps a mask on, never once showing more than just his eyes and never allowing anyone to hear his voice. It started out as just a fun little hobby for him, he never thought he would be this big. He never thought dueting a video from a BookTok account would end up being the best decision he has ever made.
BookTok and MaskTok, two different words colliding as one. One by one, the masks from each one will be slipped off and soon enough, the weight will be lifted.
