Brendan is almost your average troubled kid, just as he is your almost average rich kid. Two starter pokemon, penthouse apartment, messy room, bad grades, fancy parties and the like. Of course as a child he doesn't have the best reasoning skills, nor deduction skills. So he knows just what to blame all of his problems on. His parents divorce! If they get back together than all is right in the world once more
Surely his parents weren't evil maniacs and the evil team bosses of Team Aqua and Team Magma respectively! All he has to do is set out with his pokemon under his fathers nose find his Pa and drag them back together so they can talk it out and be a happy family again! Surely that will work right? Right?
