Karma Vasquez is sixteen, on the run, and starting over in a town where no one knows her name or her past.

After a violent incident in Texas forces her and her mother to disappear, Karma is desperate for something normal. A new school. New friends. Maybe even love. A chance to finally breathe.

But normal doesn't last long.

The dreams start first, except they aren't dreams. They're visions of someone else's life. Someone else's memories. Then comes the voice: a sharp, persistent presence in her mind that's equal parts infuriating and comforting... and knows more about her than it should.

As Karma builds a life she's afraid to lose, something inside her begins to wake. A pull toward people she can't explain. A darkness she can't control. Questions her mother refuses to answer. And a growing fear that she was never meant to belong on Earth at all.
