Love this a a blessing and a curse. 

"Abandon" is a heart-wrenching free verse poem that captures the tragedy of fleeting love with raw, confessional intensity. The speaker lays bare their anguish, questioning a lover's potential betrayal while wrestling with the fragility of trust and the ache for unconditional devotion. Vivid metaphors, like love burning "like hate" and the speaker as a "ghost," paint a haunting picture of love's fleeting warmth-beautiful yet doomed to fade. In five stanzas, the poem spirals from personal heartbreak to the universal truth that love, a miraculous wound, inevitably abandons us, leaving only echoes of connection in its wake.
