"You are," Soobin said, breaking. "You still are. You always will be."
Yeonjun's gaze softened, like Soobin's words were the last warm thing anchoring him to this world.
"I love you, Soobin-ah," he whispered. "I love you so much. Don't ever forget that."
"I won't," Soobin choked. "I swear I won't. Just stay. Please stay."
Yeonjun breathed out, slow and shaky.
"Promise me one thing," he said.
Soobin nodded frantically. "Anything. I promise."
"Promise me," Yeonjun whispered, "to love the roses. No matter how ugly."
Soobin collapsed over him, tears soaking into Yeonjun's shirt as he pulled him close, holding him like letting go would shatter the universe.
"I promise," he cried. "I promise. I'll love them all. I'll love you forever."
