More Than Magic follows six friends in their final year at the Eris Academy for Magical Studies in the city of Albrook, the capital of the Magical realm. In this world, magic is a complex and scientific subject mainly used for menial tasks and always requires balance. Alexander Hemlock is unlike the rest of his friends in that he comes from the non-magical realm. Alex clings to his close friends and books, reluctant to push his boundaries. He has a hard time battling his self-doubt and anxieties in social contexts, especially when the gorgeous and kind Melian Knox is involved. Despite Melian Knox's warm bubbly exterior, she comes from a dark background. As the heir to the prestigious Knox family, she was raised in a cold and cruel estate by her traditional Grandmother, cruel Mother, and sick and distant Father. She is popular, loyal to her close friends, and an impressively talented person but is occasionally blinded by her ignorance of other people's experiences and is always unwilling to open up to a fault.
