Ruby Rose dreams of becoming a Huntress-a protector of humanity against the creatures of Grimm. After a fateful encounter with the mysterious Professor Ozpin and the strict Glynda Goodwitch, Ruby is admitted early into Beacon Academy, the most prestigious school for Huntsmen and Huntresses in the kingdom of Vale.
Thrown into a new world of powerful students and dangerous trials, Ruby struggles to find her place. She is soon partnered with Weiss Schnee, the disciplined but cold heiress of the Schnee Dust Company; Blake Belladonna, a quiet and secretive girl with shadows of her own; and Yang Xiao Long, Ruby's fiery and confident older sister. Together, they form Team RWBY.
But beneath Beacon's shining halls, trouble stirs. From petty criminals to masked revolutionaries, from corrupt businessmen to shadowy figures pulling strings behind the scenes, danger grows closer with every passing day. And while the students train to fight the Grimm, they may soon learn that the darkest enemies do not always come from outside the kingdoms... but from within.
Volume One marks the beginning of a journey that will test bonds of friendship, challenge ideals, and unravel secrets buried deep in Remnant's past.
