Already on a downward spiral of self-destruction, and at his lowest point, Ghost is thrust into a mission to stop a terrorist attack with hostages. When the mission goes sideways, he finds himself trapped and injured.
However, an unexpected encounter brings a flicker of light and hope in the darkness. When that light is cruelly snuffed out, it only reminds him of everything he has lost and hastens his descent.
With nothing left to live for, a second chance emerges, a new flicker of light. It's now up to him to once again, drag himself out of the abyss and fully grasp his last hope of salvation.

An expert forensic team are called to the base to investigate a digital security breach, leading to the 141 team hosting one of the investigators. Their temporary guest, a rather odd young woman, seems to have an extreme and rather troubling reaction to Ghost's presence. But when clues to her strange behaviour are uncovered, Ghost's anger and suspicious nature gets the best of him and his quest for answers, forces him to face the darkest parts of himself. So this is a wee bit different. This story formed part of a longer work in progress. However, as that story grew, it was clear that this arc, added an unnecessarily complicated aspect to my main protagonist. Rather than let the longer story get too messy, I decided to make this a short story on it's own. The character is similar but I did end up changing her name and back story.Concluida

Ghost knows to keep his head on straight, even when he's assigned to question her, to test her loyalty. He's the one that gets tested when he discovers that no mask could hide him from her. Her connections are dangerous. His enemies want her. All she wants is to live again. Cartel related storyline, soft Simon, soft female OC. Other characters make important appearances. Not historically or Call of Dutily accurate, although I tried my best. Shamelessly slow burn. 'Eventual smut' is my favorite tag.
