What if your life revolved around lenses? What if you were a lens yourself, meant to serve as only a stepping stone for people to find or lose themselves through? What if that was your fate, the only way you could ever hope to live, endlessly drawn to people, only to put their life together and have them leave you, or destroy them and have them leave you? No matter who you love, no matter how much, whether they are left whole or fragmented, they always leave you behind. And you are left alone until the next person comes along and the dance begins again. Now, what if you met another with the same fate as yours? Would you be able to reflect each other's darkness to find a new light? Or will you lose yourselves in an effort to achieve more than you were ever meant to? **** Throughout this story, you will never know the name of the main character, the names of the people who come and go, or the name of the love interest. This is because of two reasons: I believe that the love the main character feels, regardless of gender or appearance, goes far past any physical title the person experiencing it may hold, and because I believe that you may resonate with at least one of these characters I have carefully crafted. You may, at some point, have acted as a lens yourself, or may have encountered a lens, or simply have been a bystander as someone you know did. I hope to maintain this sense of anonymity through the course of this piece of fiction.

The thing that you read before you read the book Hello Reader, welcome to our book. Now this story tells two perspectives on one situation, so it can be read inside out, flapways, flipways, sideways, front to back, or back to front (not that we'd recommend it). So please, grab a chair and sit in it (or stand if you prefer) while we introduce the two very special people this is all about. ROSE JACOBS cannot speak. She is easily irritated but very caring at the same time. She's a straight up tomboy and almost never wears makeup. She loves to daydream at any moment she can. All she wants in life is success, and only success. You may call her a buzzkill but I think it's a great life goal. Unlike Poe, no one (even in kindergarten) has ever liked her, except her best friend Greg. But Rose doesn't care, well... nah. We're not gonna tell you, that would ruin the story. POE XIAO cannot see. We think you can tell where this is going. He's charming, ever so flirty, and oh-so sarcastic. He's more put together than a blind guy should be. Girls drop like flies around him, but none of that really matters. On the inside- well, if we told you that would ruin it, right? Read as these two collide at an internship and a number of other painfully awkward situations. You shall laugh and cry and maybe even both, which might cause you to snort milk out of your nose, so we'd be careful. It's a wild ride of what it's like to live silenced and in the dark.
