When running for her life Briar is forced to scale the 20 foot wall that surrounds Amortencia protecting it from the forest and the dangers beyond. After falling and being rescued by a potential new friend and taken to her home to be cared for Briar learns that what she has been told her whole life is a lie and there is more to the world then she was led to believe. With the help of new friends she plans to reveal the truth to everyone in Amortencia. The thing is Briar has her own secret she is keeping from her new friends and it is one that could destroy what trust they have.
